35th Class Reunion

We held our 35th Class Reunion on November 24, 2001 at the Philadelphia Airport Hilton Hotel. Reunion committee members Rosemarie (Dragoni) Fisher and Eileen (Fetter) Zolotorofe, met each of the classmates at the door. Rosemarie and Eileen made sure each guest received a warm welcome, name tags and a special 35th reunion souvenir gift (a blackboard taken from the old school was cut into a small squares. Each square was inscribed:

"RTH class of 66 35th Reunion"

The evening started off with classmates and their guest mingling and reminiscing during a one-hour cocktail party. Eileen (Fetter) Zolotorofe served as our mistress of ceremonies and offered an inspiring invocation followed by a sit down dinner. Our DJ, Kevin Hitchens, provided music throughout the evening.
Raffle tickets were sold for a chance to win some memorabilia from the our old High School
(desks and chairs and even a school bell). The raffle proved to be a big hit success with each of the items finding a new home with a few lucky classmates.

A big thank you goes out to committee members Rosemarie and Charlie Fisher, Eileen Zolotorofe, Bob Rossney and Roberta Cross. These guys not only made several trips to the old High School to pick up the items they also gave them a good cleaning, and transported them to the hall.

A touching moment -- Classmate Maxine Bean, happened to be at the WTC on 09/11/01 and shared her experience with us. Maxine was on the 85th floor of the WTC South Tower when the first plane hit. Maxine explained how horrific the events of that day were. She described what it was like to be there, and how the memories of that day will forever be with her. On a positive note, Maxine also told everyone how happy she was to be able to attend this year's reunion and how lucky she felt to be able to be standing there talking to them. Maxine's story was reported in the Delaware County Daily Times on November 25, 2001.

The balance of the evening was spent listening to music, dancing and talking. Coffee and pastries were served at 11:00, with the final dance at midnight. A good time was had by all.  A few of us even stayed  to close down the sports club at the Hilton!
